New Social Enterprise established
Message from Elaine about setting up Old Oak Social Enterprise Ltd
Old Oak Social Enterprise Ltd
Hello folks,
Many of you who know me will be aware of my long-standing community activism. Having lived on our beautiful estate for 17 years, I’ve spent much of that time knocking on doors—metaphorically and literally—trying to get us the recognition, support, and resources we deserve. Too often, that support seems to stop at White City.
That said, we’ve made great progress. Our Residents Association has grown from four determined individuals to nearly 100 members on our WhatsApp group, with regularly attended meetings and a strong sense of solidarity.
Last week, I took the next step and officially registered Old Oak Social Enterprise Ltd (OOSE)—a new non-profit dedicated to bringing residents together to support one another through practical, voluntary help. In the coming weeks, a leaflet will be dropping through your letterbox inviting you to complete a short survey. This will help us shape OOSE’s services around what you say matters most.
If you’re able to give just one hour a month or more to volunteer, are willing to undertake a DBS check and relevant training, I’d love to hear from you. Without volunteers, we simply can’t do this.
You’ll find a copy of the leaflet attached and a link to our very basic website, where you can also complete the survey:

Please take a moment to explore the site, fill out the survey, and if you’re interested in volunteering, get in touch: elaine@oose.uk
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Warm regards,
Elaine
